The big issue that leads me to a dying CVT is the vibration/noise/hum I am getting while cruising. At around 45mph i begin to hear and feel (in the steering wheel, pedals, console) a vibration and humming noise that "rolls/surges". thats the best way I can explain it. Yesterday I started getting a rattling noise on deceleration almost to a stop. Almost sound like exhaust pipe rattling but it was coming from underneath me. While driving 75 mph, the transmission starts making a whining noise, and the transmission warning indicator illuminates, the vehicle decelerates and loses power. We coast the vehicle over to the road shoulder, wait awhile and the warning light goes off. This happened four times in succession on our last trip of 240 miles. This is the second CVT TF I've had in the workshop with a noisey drive plate and I have to say, I've not yet heard a quiet one yet....
